About SSC New Vacancy –
The SSC MTS (Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff) exam is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) of India. It is held annually to recruit candidates for various non-technical Group C posts in government departments, ministries, and offices across India.
Here are some key points about the SSC MTS exam:
Eligibility Criteria: The Candidates must typically have completed high school (10th pass standard) or its equivalent from a recognized board or university. The age limit for SSC MTS varies from 18 to 25 years, although age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to certain categories as per government rules.
Exam Pattern: The SSC MTS exam is conducted in two stages:
Paper 1: This is a computer-based examination (CBE) consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering four sections: General English, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, and General Awareness. Each section carries equal weightage. The duration of the exam is typically 90 minutes.
Paper 2: Descriptive paper, where candidates have to write a short essay or letter in English or any language included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. This paper aims to test the basic language skills of the candidates. It is usually conducted in pen-and-paper mode and is of qualifying nature.
Selection Process: Candidates who qualify both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are called for document verification. Final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in Paper 1, as Paper 2 is of qualifying nature. The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in Paper 1.
Salary and Benefits: Once selected, candidates are appointed to various Group C posts such as Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, etc. The salary and benefits are as per the pay scale and allowances decided by the government for Group C employees.
Preparation: Aspirants preparing for the SSC MTS exam usually focus on improving their proficiency in the subjects covered in Paper 1, along with enhancing their writing skills for Paper 2. Regular practice with mock tests and previous years’ question papers is often recommended to acquaint oneself with the exam pattern and improve time management skills.
Overall, the SSC MTS exam provides opportunities for candidates to secure stable government employment in various departments and is popular among individuals seeking entry-level positions in the government sector.
